HYDROLOGIC STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE EUREKA, CA

...The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Hydrologic
Statement in cooperation with the California Department of Water
Resources for the following rivers in California...

  Eel River at Fernbridge affecting Humboldt County

Precipitation has become showery across the area. The river is
expected to fluctuate just above monitor stage through Saturday
evening.

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Do not drive your car across flooded roadways. It only takes about
two feet of water to float most vehicles. For area road conditions...
call CALTRANS at 1-800-427-7623.

Stay tuned to developments by listening to NOAA Weather Radio or your
local TV or radio stations.

The next statement will be issued around 1000 AM Saturday or as
warranted by changing conditions.

Forecast information for the Eel River at Fernbridge...

* At 9:15 PM Friday, the stage was 14.9 feet.
* This river is currently above monitor stage.
* No flooding is forecast.
* Monitor stage is 14.0 feet, flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* This river is forecast to fluctuate near 15.0 feet through early
  Saturday morning, then fall below monitor stage of 14.0 feet late
  Saturday evening. The river is then forecast to recede to near
  11.5 feet by late Monday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, minor flooding of western portions of
  Cannibal Island Road, Camp Weott Road, and adjacent areas may
  occur if the crest time is coincident with an ocean tide of
  6 feet or greater.
