...LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW ACCUMULATIONS EXPECTED CHRISTMAS DAY AND
NIGHT...

.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL PRODUCE ONE OR MORE BANDS OF LIGHT TO
MODERATE SNOW ON CHRISTMAS DAY THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING. ALONG THE
LEADING EDGE OF PRECIPITATION LATE TONIGHT INTO CHRISTMAS
DAY...THERE COULD BE A VERY BRIEF ONE OR TWO HOUR WINDOW OF MIXED
PRECIPITATION TYPES...SLEET OR FREEZING RAIN CHANGING QUICKLY OVER
TO SNOW. LITTLE IN THE WAY OF ICE ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED. THE
PRIMARY REASON THIS ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED IS FOR A GENERAL
LIGHT ACCUMULATION OF 2 TO 4 INCHES IS EXPECTED WITH LOCALLY
HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. AS IS OFTEN THE CASE WITH BANDED SNOW
EVENTS...IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOME AREAS MAY ONLY SEE AN INCH WHILE
OTHER AREAS SEE 5 OR MORE INCHES OF SNOW. WIND SPEEDS ARE NOT
EXPECTED TO BE MUCH MORE THAN 10 TO 20 MPH PERHAPS WITH SOME
OCCASIONAL HIGHER GUSTS...SO SIGNIFICANT VISIBILITY RESTRICTIONS
AND BLOWING SNOW IS NOT ANTICIPATED AT THIS TIME WITH THIS SYSTEM.

WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON CST /11
AM MST/ THURSDAY TO 6 AM CST /5 AM MST/ FRIDAY.

* TIMING...MEANINGFUL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS TO BEGIN BY MID DAY
  THURSDAY AND CONTINUING UNTIL EARLY MORNING ON FRIDAY.

* WINDS/VISIBILITY...NORTH WINDS OF 10 TO 20 MPH WITH OCCASIONAL
  HIGHER GUSTS OF 25 TO 30 MPH.

* SNOW/ICE ACCUMULATIONS...EXPECT A GENERAL BLANKET OF 2 TO 4
  INCHES OF SNOW WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

* OTHER IMPACTS...TRAVEL ON CHRISTMAS DAY AND FRIDAY COULD BE
  HAMPERED DUE TO FALLING AND DRIFTING SNOW. BE SURE TO INCLUDE
  EXTRA TRAVEL TIME AND REACH YOUR DESTINATION SAFELY THIS HOLIDAY
  SEASON.
