...SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM EXPECTED ACROSS NORTHERN ALABAMA AND
SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE LATE TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY...

.AN ARCTIC FRONT HAS MOVED THROUGH THE TENNESSEE VALLEY THIS EVENING.
PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH LATE THURSDAY MORNING.
AS TEMPERATURES FALL BELOW FREEZING LATE TONIGHT INTO EARLY THURSDAY
MORNING...THE PRECIPITATION WILL FIRST CHANGE OVER TO FREEZING RAIN
AND SLEET OVER NORTHWEST ALABAMA AND SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE.
TEMPERATURES WILL FALL BELOW FREEZING ACROSS THE REST OF THE AREA BY
THURSDAY MORNING...WITH THE WINTRY PRECIPITATION SPREADING SOUTHEAST
ACROSS THE REST OF THE TENNESSEE VALLEY THROUGH THE DAY ON THURSDAY.
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO BE BELOW FREEZING FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD
OF TIME OVER NORTHERN ALABAMA AND SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE. AS A
RESULT...THERE IS A HIGH LIKELIHOOD OF BETWEEN ONE QUARTER TO THREE
TENTHS OF AN INCH OF ICE ACCUMULATING ON GROUND AND ROAD SURFACES
OVER THE AREA AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS AROUND A HALF AN INCH.
