...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR THE JUNE 29, 2017 TORNADO EVENT IN CEDAR
COUNTY NEBRASKA...

.OVERVIEW...

Scattered strong to severe storms affected portions of eastern
Nebraska and western Iowa during the afternoon and evening hours
of Thursday, June 29th. One of the most intense storms was a
supercell that tracked across northern Cedar County in far
northeast Nebraska, producing a tornado that was on the ground for
26 minutes and covered 14.4 miles. In addition to the tornado,
this storm produced hail up to baseball size.

The tornado track was based on a survey of the tornado by the
county emergency manager and video and photographic documentation
of the tornado. The tornado details may be updated when more
information becomes available.

EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale Classifies
Tornadoes into the following categories.

EF0...Weak......65 to 85 mph
EF1...Weak......86 to 110 mph
EF2...Strong....111 to 135 mph
EF3...Strong....136 to 165 mph
EF4...Violent...166 To 200 mph
EF5...Violent...>200 mph
