SCATTERED SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS IN IOWA AND EASTERN
NEBRASKA WILL SLOWLY DISSIPATE AS THEY WORK EAST DURING THE EARLY
AFTERNOON. HOWEVER MORE THUNDERSTORMS ARE FORECAST TO FIRE BY MID
AFTERNOON ALONG A FRONTAL BOUNDARY EXTENDING FROM CENTRAL AND
EASTERN NEBRASKA INTO CENTRAL KANSAS. THESE STORMS COULD BECOME
SEVERE WITH LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS AFFECTING EASTERN NEBRASKA
AND EASTERN KANSAS THROUGH THE LATE AFTERNOON...AND MOVING INTO IOWA
AND NORTHERN MISSOURI DURING THE EVENING. THE STORM SHOULD GRADUALLY
WEAKEN AS THEY MOVE EAST ACROSS IOWA AND MISSOURI OVERNIGHT.
OTHERWISE...SCATTERED SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS ARE ALSO
POSSIBLE IN SOUTH DAKOTA AND WESTERN NEBRASKA THIS AFTERNOON AND
TONIGHT...NEAR A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ROLLING THROUGH THE NORTHERN
PLAINS.

HIGH TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON ARE FORECAST TO REACH THE 70S AND
LOWER 80S OVER A GOOD CHUNK OF MID AMERICA...BUT WILL ONLY CLIMB
INTO THE 60S IN WESTERN SECTIONS OF SOUTH DAKOTA AND NEBRASKA.
COOLER AIR SPILLING IN BEHIND THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL DRIVE
LOWS TONIGHT INTO THE 30S AND 40S OVER THE WESTERN HALVES OF SOUTH
DAKOTA...NEBRASKA AND KANSAS...WITH THE REST OF THE REGION SEEING
LOWS IN THE 50S OR LOWER 60S.
