Weather Summary for Eastern Nebraska and Southwest Iowa
National Weather Service Omaha/Valley NE
330 AM CST Thu Jan 12 2017
A fast moving upper level disturbance brought some light snow to
parts of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa from Wednesday evening
into early this morning. Amounts were highest north of a line from
around Seward to Omaha and Atlantic Iowa.
An area of cold high pressure will build southeast across the
northern half of the Plains today, reinforcing the cold air in
place. Another upper level disturbance could bring some light snow
to parts of the region tonight. That cold high pressure should
keep the main active weather to the south of our local area, across
Kansas and Missouri, through Saturday.
High temperatures today across Mid America are expected to be
mostly in the teens and 20s. Lows tonight will be mainly in the
single digits and teens.
