Weather Summary for Eastern Nebraska and Southwest Iowa
National Weather Service Omaha/Valley NE
331 AM CDT THU MAY 19 2016

A low pressure system remaining over the Rockies through tonight
will maintain southerly winds across mid America, helping to boost
temperatures more toward normal mid-May values. Meanwhile a piece of
that area of low pressure will eject into the Plains, bringing a
chance for a few showers or thunderstorms to parts of the region
through tonight. Scattered afternoon thunderstorms are expected in
the Nebraska Panhandle, with that activity spreading across western
and central South Dakota, as well as western Nebraska, overnight.
Also a few showers are possible in eastern Kansas and central
Missouri this afternoon and tonight.

Outside of precipitation areas, expect partly cloudy skies and mild
temperatures. Highs this afternoon should reach the upper 60s to
middle 70s across the region. Overnight lows are forecast to settle
back into the upper 40s to middle 50s.
