...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM HST THIS AFTERNOON FOR THE
ISLAND OF MAUI IN MAUI COUNTY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.

* WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County.

* WHEN...Until 430 PM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
  streams.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 128 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over east Maui.
    Rain was falling at a rate of 1 inch per hour with isolated
    pockets of up to 2 inches per hour. Additional heavy showers
    are expected through the afternoon.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Kipahulu, Nahiku, Keanae, Kaupo, Hana, Kula, Huelo, Makawao,
    Haiku-Pauwela, Pauwela, Haleakala National Park, Wailua,
    Kailua and Hamoa.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 430 PM HST if flooding
persists.
