Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central Pennsylvania
National Weather Service State College, PA
233 PM EDT Tue May 7 2024

.DISCUSSION...

A warm front over Southwestern and Southcentral Pennsylvania
this afternoon will drift slowly to the northeast late today
and tonight.

Isolated to scattered showers will occur near and to the south
of this airmass boundary this afternoon and evening.

Winds will be generally from the south to southwest at 5 to 10
for the rest of this afternoon and will become moderately gusty
over the Western Mountains tonight as a fairly potent upper
level disturbance approaches from the Ohio Valley, where it will
be producing an outbreak of severe thunderstorms.

The storms will weaken as they move over the Western and
Central Mountains of the state later tonight and continue
into the Predawn hours of Wednesday.

Wednesday will bring clearing skies and a gusty westerly wind,
up to around 30 mph at times.

Afternoon/minimum RH will dip into the 30-40 percent range on Wed.
