.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...
Today will be dry with seasonal temperatures. Relative humidity
will drop to around 20 percent across the plains but the light
winds will keep fire weather conditions on the low side. Smoke
dispersal will be fair to good across most areas.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Friday through Monday...
It will be much warmer Friday through Sunday with highs well
above average for the date, and notably drier conditions. Breezy
conditions will be localized to the higher mountain elevations
Friday into Saturday. By Sunday, winds will strengthen region wide
ahead of an approaching trough, and could extend into Monday,
with areas of low humidity below 15% likely persisting locally.
Fire weather concerns during this period will be largely
constrained by fuel susceptibility. The areas with greater
potential for observing meteorological Red Flag conditions would
be Park County, the southern foothills, and Lincoln County.
Precipitation chances will tick up for all areas Monday into
Tuesday in the form of scattered showers/convection, but details
remain uncertain. Smoke dispersal is expected to remain favorable
for essentially all areas through at least Monday.
