A fire growing pattern will develop over central and western areas today, then spread to eastern areas as well Monday through Wednesday, with widespread strong winds and very low humidities each day. Extreme fire weather conditions are forecast over the Rio Grande Valley and southwest parts of the forecast area today. A gusty Pacific cold front will cross tonight keeping winds strong through much of the night. Mountain wave activity is forecast over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains tonight with wind gusts up to 70 mph possible along the upper east slopes, and potentially into the Northeast Highlands. Extreme fire weather conditions Monday look to favor eastern areas, then extreme fire weather conditions will be possible areawide on Tuesday when many lower elevation locations will probably have over 5 hours of single digit humidities.
