190 FNAK53 PAFG 052036 FWFAFG Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Interior Alaska National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 1236 PM AKDT Sun May 5 2024 .DISCUSSION...A series of upper level bands of energy will be going over the Alaskan Range and ejecting over the Upper Tanana Valley over the next few days. This will bring scattered showers throughout the valley with the highest chances at Delta Junction, Tok, the Eielson Testing Grounds, and the White Mountains. We could see accumulations as high as 1/2". The RH will drop to around 35 to 45% with significant recovery overnight to a range of 70 to 85%. Starting tonight the eastern interior will see a wind shift to out of the Northeast with gusts up to 20 to 25 mph. These winds should last through most of Monday but begin to weaken as we go into the overnight hours of Monday. Outside of the Upper Tanana Valley the interior should see isolated snow showers Monday afternoon to Tuesday morning. Accumulations look to be less than 1".
