...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 AM CDT EARLY THIS
MORNING FOR SOUTHWESTERN FREESTONE AND NORTHEASTERN LIMESTONE
COUNTIES...

At 326 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain and thunderstorms continue across Freestone and Limestone
counties. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen since Wednesday
evening. Flash flooding is already occurring. Another 1 to 3 inches
of rain is possible through 6 AM.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Mexia, Groesbeck, Teague, Fairfield, Wortham, Lake Limestone, Fort
  Parker State Park, Lake Mexia, Tehuacana, Kirvin, Cotton Gin,
  Fallon, Freestone, Shiloh, Farrar, Donie, Dew and Lanely.

This includes Interstate 45 between mile markers 181 and 196.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Dangerous flash flooding is occurring or is imminent. Do not attempt
to travel unless you are fleeing flood waters. If you are in an area
subject to flooding, move to higher ground now.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
