Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
213 PM CDT Fri May 10 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Behind a shortwave trough departing to the east tomorrow, high
pressure will build into the region favoring deep mixing and
gusty northwest winds during the afternoon leading to excellent
vent rates. Winds will back to the southwest on Sunday and will
not be as strong, but still mixing heights will be upwards of 6 to
7 thousand feet during the afternoon favoring another day of good
vent rates. There will be a 30% chance for showers along a cold
front tonight crossing the region from northwest to southeast, but
much higher chances for precipitation will arrive late Sunday
night into Monday with the next system.
