...SHOWERS WITH GUSTY WINDS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...

  Long Island Sound West of New Haven CT / Port Jefferson NY...

At 149 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers with gusty winds,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. A few gusts close to
35 kt are possible along with a lightning strike. These showers were
located 10 nm northwest of Mamaroneck Harbor, moving southeast at 35
knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.
