FLOOD STATEMENT

...The flood warning is cancelled for the Big Muddy River affecting
   areas in southwest Illinois...

   Near Plumfield affecting Franklin and Williamson Counties

.Water levels near Plumfield, Il has fallen below the flood stage
earlier this evening. The Big Muddy River first rose above the flood
stage of 20 feet during the evening hours of June 20th, and crested
at 23.4 feet on the evening of June 23rd.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

The Flood Warning is cancelled for the Big Muddy River near Plumfield.
* At 11 PM Monday the stage was 19.9 feet.
* Flood Stage is 20.0 feet.
* Fell below flood stage at 9:30 PM Monday.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to 18.6 feet by
  Wednesday morning.
* Impact...At 20.0 Feet...Minor flooding occurs affecting mainly
  bottomland and surrounding low lying areas.
