following locations...affecting the indicated counties in Illinois...
Missouri and Kentucky.

     Cape Girardeau...affecting Alexander...Jackson...Union...Cape
                      Girardeau...Perry and Scott Counties.
     Thebes...........affecting Alexander and Scott Counties.

     New Madrid.......affecting Fulton...Mississippi and New Madrid
                      Counties.

.Heavy rainfall has caused river levels to rise on the Mississippi
River. At Cape Girardeau...Major flooding is occurring and Major
flooding is forecast. The river will continue rising to near 43.5
feet by Saturday early afternoon then begin falling. At Thebes...
Moderate flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast. The
river will continue rising to near 42.5 feet by Saturday morning
then begin falling. At New Madrid...Minor flooding is occurring and
Minor flooding is forecast. See the details below...

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

* Flood Stage is 32.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 43.5 feet by
  Saturday early afternoon then begin falling.
* Impact...At 43.0 Feet...The flood gate on North Main Street closes.

  Tuesday morning then begin falling.
* Impact...At 38.0 Feet...Heavy agricultural damage begins.
