...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in
Kentucky...Missouri...

  Mississippi River at New Madrid affecting Fulton...Mississippi and
  New Madrid Counties

...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...Missouri...

  Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau affecting Alexander...
  Jackson...Union...Cape Girardeau...Perry and Scott Counties

  Mississippi River at Thebes affecting Alexander and Scott Counties


.The combination of recent heavy rainfall and additional heavy rains the
next couple days will lead to water levels remaining high on area rivers.
Major flooding is occurring on the Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau
while Thebes is experiencing moderate flooding and forecast to go into
major category. Minor flooding is forecast to develop at New Madrid by
tomorrow afternoon and continue into next week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau
* until further notice.
* At 12:30 PM Wednesday the stage was 42.6 feet.
* Flood Stage is 32.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 43.5 feet by
  Friday morning then begin slowly falling. Additional rises may be
  possible.
* Impact...At 43.0 Feet...The flood gate on North Main Street closes.

* At 12:30 PM Wednesday the stage was 41.6 feet.
* Flood Stage is 33.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 42.5 feet by
  Friday afternoon then begin slowly falling. Additional rises may
  be possible.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Mississippi River at New Madrid.
* from Thursday afternoon until further notice.
* At 12:00 PM Wednesday the stage was 33.7 feet.
* Flood Stage is 34.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow afternoon and
  continue to rise to near 36.0 feet by Tuesday morning.
* Impact...At 34.0 Feet...Minor flooding occurs affecting mainly
  bottomland and surrounding low lying areas.
