following locations...affecting the indicated counties in Illinois...
Missouri and Kentucky...

  Mississippi River at...

    Cape Girardeau....affecting Alexander...Jackson...Union...Cape
                          Girardeau...Perry and Scott Counties.
    Thebes............affecting Alexander and Scott Counties.

    New Madrid........affecting Fulton...Mississippi and New Madrid
                          Counties.

.Heavy rainfall has caused river levels to rise on the Mississippi
River. At Cape Girardeau...Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate
flooding is forecast. The river will continue to fall to below flood
stage by early Wednesday morning. At Thebes and New Madrid...Minor
flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast. See all of the
details below...

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

  the Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau
* until Wednesday morning.
* At  8:30 PM Friday the stage was 37.3 feet.
* Flood Stage is 32.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  early Wednesday morning.
* Impact...At 38.0 Feet...The flood gate at Broadway closes.

* At  8:30 PM Friday the stage was 36.9 feet.
* Flood Stage is 33.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 36.9 feet by
  after midnight tomorrow. The river will fall below flood stage late
  Tuesday morning.

* until Sunday morning.
* At  8:00 PM Friday the stage was 35.0 feet.
* Flood Stage is 34.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  early Sunday morning.
* Impact...At 34.0 Feet...Minor flooding occurs affecting mainly
  bottomland and surrounding low lying areas.
