FLOOD STATEMENT

...The flood warning continues for the Little Wabash River
   affecting areas in southeast Illinois...

   At Carmi affecting Gallatin...Wayne and White Counties

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

The Flood Warning continues for the Little Wabash River at Carmi.
* until Thursday August 25.
* At 8 PM Thursday the stage was 26.7 feet.
* Flood Stage is 27.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage this Friday and crest
  near 30.4 feet Monday. The river will fall
  below flood stage next Thursday.
* Impact...At 32.0 Feet...Flood waters flow up McHenry slough and
  areas near Route 1 and 14 in Carmi begin to flood.
