...The National Weather Service in Paducah, Kentucky has issued a
flood warning for a portion of the Black River affecting areas
in southeast Missouri...

  At Poplar Bluff affecting Butler County

.Water levels are rising along the Black River in southeast Missouri
with minor flood conditions expected within 24 hours at Poplar Bluff.
Periods of torrential rain occurred across the area Wednesday afternoon
and evening, with additional rainfall possible during the overnight



Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated

The National Weather Service in Paducah, Kentucky has issued a

* Flood Warning for the Black River at Poplar Bluff.
* from Thursday evening to Friday morning.
* At 11 PM Wednesday the stage was 11.0 feet.
* Flood Stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to near flood stage
  early Thursday evening.
* Impact...At 16.0 Feet...Minor flooding occurs affecting mainly
  bottomland and surrounding low lying areas.  If the water continues
  to rise, Hillcrest Park will be affected.
