...The National Weather Service in Paducah KY has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Illinois...Indiana...

  Wabash River at New Harmony

.Runoff from recent heavy rain and forecast additional rain over the
Wabash River Valley will cause the Wabash River at New Harmony to
rise into minor flood stage. The river will reach minor flood stage
Thursday afternoon and remain there until further notice.

For the Wabash River...including New Harmony...Minor flooding is
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON UNTIL FURTHER
NOTICE...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at New Harmony.

* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Harmonie State Park is closed. Surrounding
  bottomland is flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 9:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 14.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    early tomorrow afternoon and continue rising to 17.1 feet
    Thursday, April 18. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
  - Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
