FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR THE HEARTLAND
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PADUCAH KY
304 PM CST FRI NOV 21 2014

.DISCUSSION...

THE CLOUDS THAT MOVED OVER THE AREA EARLIER ON FRIDAY WILL
CONTINUE TO MOVE OVER THE REMAINDER OF THE REGION TONIGHT. THESE
CLOUDS SIGNAL THE INFLUX OF MOISTURE WRAPPING AROUND A DEPARTING
AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE MOVING EAST FROM THE QUAD STATE REGION.
ALONG WITH THE CLOUDS, RAIN CHANCES WILL SLOWLY WORK NORTHEAST
OVER SOUTHEAST MISSOURI, SOUTHERN ILLINOIS, AND INTO A SMALL PART
OF WEST KENTUCKY AND SOUTHWEST INDIANA THROUGH DAYBREAK ON
SATURDAY.

THE CHANCES FOR RAIN WILL INCREASE SHARPLY ON LATE SATURDAY NIGHT
AND MOST OF THE DAY ON SUNDAY. A FEW THUNDERSTORMS MAY NOT BE OUT
OF THE QUESTION AS WELL. THE MAIN IMPACT OVER THE WEEKEND WILL BE
RAINFALL TOTALS RANGING FROM NEAR THREE-QUARTERS OF AN INCH ALONG
THE EASTERN PENNYRILE REGION OF WEST KENTUCKY TO NEAR AN INCH AND
A HALF OVER SOUTHEAST MISSOURI.

TEMPERATURES OVER THE WEEKEND WILL BE AT OR SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL.

DRY AND COLDER WEATHER WILL RETURN LATER ON MONDAY AND PERSIST
THROUGH TUESDAY, WITH TEMPERATURES 5 TO 10 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL
FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR.

A MINOR DISTURBANCE WILL BRING A SMALL CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION TO
THE QUAD STATE REGION FROM MIDDAY WEDNESDAY INTO MIDDAY
THANKSGIVING DAY. AT THIS TIME, THE INTENSITY AND COVERAGE OF THE
PRECIPITATION SHOULD NOT DRAMATICALLY IMPACT HOLIDAY TRAVEL PLANS.

DRY AND COOL WEATHER WILL THEN PERSIST FOR THE REMAINDER OF
THANKSGIVING DAY AND INTO THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND.
