...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT TUESDAY...

A HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT TUESDAY.

* EXCESSIVE HEAT AND HUMIDITY IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH
TUESDAY. IN ADDITION TO HOT TEMPERATURES IN THE AFTERNOONS...
THE LOWS AT NIGHT ARE EXPECTED TO COOL ONLY INTO THE LOWER AND
MIDDLE 70S. THIS WILL LIMIT RECOVERY TIME FOR ANYONE WITHOUT
  ACCESS TO AIR CONDITIONING.

* TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE TO REACH THE LOWER TO MID 90S EACH
AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY. SOME PLACES WILL REACH THE UPPER 90S
IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI. THESE TEMPERATURES WILL COMBINE WITH HIGH
HUMIDITY TO PRODUCE AFTERNOON HEAT INDEX VALUES AROUND 105 TODAY
AND MONDAY...AND FROM 100 TO 105 TUESDAY. ISOLATED LOCATIONS
WILL CONTINUE TO SEE THE HEAT INDEX REACH 110 AT TIMES.

* THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL
CREATE A SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE POSSIBLE. TAKE
EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND
HEAT STROKE. WEAR LIGHTWEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN
POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS
EXPECTED. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS...STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED
ROOM...STAY OUT OF THE SUN...AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND
