THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PADUCAH HAS ISSUED A DENSE FOG
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM CDT THIS MORNING. THIS
DENSE FOG ADVISORY COVERS SOUTHEAST ILLINOIS...GENERALLY ALONG AND
EAST OF A LINE FROM INTERSTATE 57 AND INTERSTATE 24.

IN ADDITION...AN EXCESSIVE HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT
THROUGH 8 PM CDT SUNDAY FOR ALL OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS.

* VISIBILITIES DUE TO THE FOG OVERNIGHT WILL PERIODICALLY DROP
  BELOW A MILE AT TIMES AND MAY RAPIDLY CHANGE OVER A SHORT
  DISTANCE.

* IMPACTS DUE TO THE FOG OVERNIGHT WILL BE REDUCED VISIBILITY OF
  THE ROAD AHEAD. DRIVERS SHOULD USE CAUTION IN AREAS OF REDUCED
  VISIBILITY.

* FOR THE EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING THIS WEEKEND...THE COMBINATION
  OF HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE MID TO UPPER 90S WILL COMBINE WITH
  OPPRESSIVE HUMIDITY TO PRODUCE HEAT INDICES FROM 105 TO 110
  DEGREES.

* A HEAT INDEX OF 105 DEGREES OR HIGHER IS CONSIDERED THE LEVEL
  AT WHICH THE BODY BECOMES MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO HEAT EXHAUSTION
  AND HEAT STROKE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING MEANS THAT A PROLONGED PERIOD OF
DANGEROUSLY HOT TEMPERATURES WILL OCCUR. THE COMBINATION OF HOT
TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A DANGEROUS
SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE LIKELY.

A DENSE FOG ADVISORY MEANS VISIBILITIES WILL FREQUENTLY BE

THE PENNYRILE REGION OF WEST KENTUCKY THROUGH 8 PM CDT SUNDAY.
