...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR 03/09/17 TORNADO EVENT

.OVERVIEW...A tornado quickly developed over Hickman KY and moved southeast
across Fulton county and into Obion county TN. This was the second of two
tornadoes in Fulton County.

End location:           4 miles North of Union City Tennessee

SURVEY SUMMARY: The tornado damaged or destroyed more than 45 homes and
other buildings, as well as several machine sheds, barns, grain bins and
irrigation systems. Numerous power poles were broken and numerous trees
were uprooted or snapped. One frame house had its entire roof structure
blown off. Straightline Wind Damage occurred mainly southwest of the
damage track. Peak winds in these non-tornadic areas were estimated to
be up to 80 mph.

Tornadoes into the following categories.

EF0...Weak......65 to 85 mph
EF1...Weak......86 to 110 mph
EF2...Strong....111 to 135 mph
EF3...Strong....136 to 165 mph
EF4...Violent...166 To 200 mph
EF5...Violent...>200 mph
