...PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT...

...FALL CAN BRING AN INCREASE IN SEVERE WEATHER TO OUR REGION...

Fall brings a transition to cooler temperatures and generally more
active weather patterns. This more progressive weather pattern can
sometimes lead to favorable conditions for severe thunderstorms
and their offsprings of tornadoes, large hail, and damaging
winds. Fall is a time of year when we have experienced some of our
strongest and most deadly tornadoes. Severe weather climatology
of the past couple decades indicated the most likely time of fall
for severe weather in our region is from about mid October through
mid November.

In preparation for the fall severe weather season we will be
releasing a series of informational statements and related visuals
via social media from October 2-6. Please use this time to review
your severe weather action plan and to increase your understanding
of severe weather.
