...UPDATE ON OIL SPILL ON MISSISSIPPI RIVER...

THE U.S. COAST GUARD REPORTS THAT ASSESSMENT TEAMS HAVE REPORTED
THAT THE MAXIMUM ESTIMATED POTENTIAL CLARIFIED SLURRY OIL RELEASED
FROM THE TOW BOATS COLLISION IS 250,000 GALLONS. THEY ARE STILL
WORKING WITH THE BARGE COMPANY AND SWS, AN OIL SPILL RESPONSE GROUP,
TO DETERMINE THE EXACT AMOUNT LEAKED.

THE COLLISION OCCURRED SHORTLY AFTER 8 PM WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2,
2015 IN THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER NEAR COLUMBUS-BELMONT PARK, KENTUCKY.
THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER REMAINS CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC BETWEEN MILE
MARKERS 939 AND 922.
