IT WAS A BIT HAZY YESTERDAY AFTERNOON IN THE QUAD STATE REGION...
WITH VARYING AMOUNTS OF CUMULUS CLOUDS IN THE SKY...PLUS SOME HIGH
CIRRUS CLOUDS MOVED IN FROM THE NORTH. FOR A BRIEF PERIOD AROUND
NOON...SCATTERED SHOWERS FORMED IN THE PURCHASE AND SOUTHERN
PENNYRILE REGIONS. THERE WERE A FEW LIGHTNING STRIKES...AND SOME
SHOWERS CONTAINED VERY HEAVY RAIN. THE REST OF THE DAY WAS RAIN FREE
ACROSS THE REGION. HIGHS WERE AROUND 90 DEGREES...AND HEAT INDICES
HOVERED AROUND 100. ONCE AGAIN...THERE WAS A SOUTHWESTERLY BREEZE IN
THE AFTERNOON...10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS ABOVE 20 MPH. TEMPERATURES
SLOWLY FELL TO AROUND 80 BY 300 AM. QUITE A LOT OF THIN CIRRUS
CLOUDS INVADED THE REGION FROM THE NORTH AFTER MIDNIGHT.

A FRONTAL BOUNDARY IS FORECAST TO ENTER THE QUAD STATE REGION FROM
THE NORTH TODAY...BEFORE RETURNING BACK TO THE NORTHEAST ON
WEDNESDAY AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN FROM THE SOUTH. VERY HUMID AIR
WILL POOL AHEAD OF THE FRONT...WHERE HEAT INDICES WILL APPROACH 105
TODAY. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED MAINLY IN
THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON...THEN POSSIBLY IN
THE NORTHEASTERN QUADRANT ON WEDNESDAY. THE I-64 CORRIDOR WILL HAVE
A LIMITED CHANCE OF ADDITIONAL SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY
WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY. THURSDAY WILL BE THE HOTTEST DAY OF
THE WEEK...WITH TEMPERATURES MOSTLY IN THE MIDDLE 90S.
