Temperatures across the Quad State Region reached afternoon highs in
th lower 70s. Skies were partly sunny, and winds were northerly at
about 10 to 15 mph.
Moisture wrapping around an intensifying area of low pressure aloft
in the Southeast U.S. will bring a small chance of showers to part
of the Quad State region on Friday, generally stretching along the
Wabash River bordering Southeast Illinois and Southwest Indiana,
southward to the Land Between the Lakes in West Kentucky.
As the upper low moves further away from the area, dry conditions
will prevail across the Quad State region through the weekend and
into early next week. The next chance for rain does not return
until next Wednesday, when a slow moving cold front works into the
area from the west.
Temperatures will start out nearly 10 to 15 degrees below normal
going into the weekend, but will rebound to near normal by next
