WEATHER SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PADUCAH KY
400 AM CDT FRI JUN 26 2015

A LARGE COMPLEX OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPED OVER SOUTHERN
ILLINOIS THURSDAY EVENING...AND MOVED EAST SOUTHEAST ACROSS MUCH OF
OUR REGION INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. DAMAGING WINDS WERE REPORTED IN
PORTIONS OF JEFFERSON AND WAYNE COUNTIES IN SOUTHERN ILLINOIS...AS
WELL AS THE MCLEANSBORO AREA. WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MILES PER HOUR
WERE REPORTED IN CARMI ILLINOIS. THE STORMS WEAKENED AFTER MIDNIGHT
AS THEY DEVELOPED SOUTHWARD THROUGH THE ENTIRE AREA EAST OF THE
MISSISSIPPI.

BY 4 AM...THE ENTIRE AREA WAS DRY...BUT SKIES REMAINED MOSTLY
CLOUDY. TEMPERATURES WERE GENERALLY IN THE LOWER 70S...WITH A FEW
LOCATIONS REPORTING UPPER 60S.

A STRONG UPPER-LEVEL STORM SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT WILL
BRING PERIODS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO THE REGION TODAY INTO
THIS EVENING. SEVERE STORMS AND HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE POSSIBLE.
MUCH COOLER CONDITIONS ARE FORECAST FOR THE WEEKEND...AS SURFACE
HIGH PRESSURE SETTLES OVER THE AREA.

BEGINNING SUNDAY NIGHT AND CONTINUING THROUGH NEXT WEEK...PERIODS OF
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL ACCOMPANY UPPER-LEVEL DISTURBANCES
ROTATING SOUTHEAST THROUGH THE REGION. TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN WELL
BELOW NORMAL THROUGH THE WEEK.
