DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS AND INTO MIDDAY ACROSS THE QUAD STATE
AREA, A WINTRY MIX OF RAIN, FREEZING RAIN, SLEET AND SNOW AFFECTED
MANY COMMUNITIES. RAINFALL TOTALS OVER OVER TWO INCHES WERE
REPORTED, WITH ICE ACCUMULATIONS GENERALLY IN THE ONE THIRD INCH
AREA. MORNING LOWS WERE IN THE UPPER 20S TO AROUND 30 DEGREES TO
THE NORTH, WITH TEMPERATURES JUST ABOVE FREEZING ELSEWHERE. BY
MIDAFTERNOON THERE WERE VERY LITTLE CHANGES.

DURING THE MID AFTERNOON HOURS, A SURFACE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WAS
CENTERED IN THE KENTUCKY PENNYRILE AREA WITH A COLD FRONT EXTEND
SOUTHWEST. BY LATE EVENING, THIS FRONTAL SYSTEM WILL BE EAST OF
THE AREA WITH ALL OF THE PRECIPITATION ENDING ACROSS WEST
KENTUCKY. COLD ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD INTO THE AREA FROM
THE NORTHWEST DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS, USHERING IN YET ANOTHER
ROUND OF BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES PERSISTING INTO EARLY NEXT
WEEK.
