Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Paducah KY
315 PM CDT WED MAY 18 2016

The low pressure area that brought rain to the area, mainly before
midnight last night, moved into the southeast Uinted States with its
associated area of low pressure residing in the mid Applachian
mountains Wednesday. Clouds began to diminish somewhat throughout
the day as weak high pressure pushed in. Cool temperatures remained
below normals.

Morning low temperatures across the quad state that averaged in the
lower 50s had only warmed to the mid 60s during the afternoon. These
temperatures averaged 10 to 15 degrees below normal for daytime
highs this time of the year that usually run in the mid to upper 70s
for highs.

As the high pressure lifts to the northeast Thursday, in its wake,
another area of low pressure will drive the weather Friday returning
a chance of rain to the area late into the workweek. With the
surface low tracking just along the southern part of the area,
rainfall chances will be the greatest south and east. Look for
temperatures Thursday to begin a slow warming trend into the
weekend.
