NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PADUCAH KY
313 PM CST Fri Feb 28 2014
Skies were sunny across the region today, which helped temperatures
climb to near normal readings this afternoon. With south to
southeast winds at 5 to 10 mph, temperatures at 3 pm ranged from the
middle 40s to lower 50s. Clouds were beginning to spread across
southeast Missouri by mid afternoon.
A weak upper level disturbance will bring a chance of light rain as
it moves east through the region tonight. An Arctic cold front will
then move through the region Saturday and Saturday night. A major
winter storm is expected across the region behind the cold front
from late Saturday night through Monday morning. This will bring
widespread wintry precipitation and some ice accumulations. Behind
this system, it will be quite cold and dry through mid week, with a
warm up expected Thursday into Friday.
