WEATHER SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PADUCAH KY
256 AM CDT Mon Aug 25 2014

...Heat Advisory remains in effect through Tuesday...

It was another unseasonably warm and humid night across our
region. Unlike the past few nights...there was no shower or
thunderstorm activity. Temperatures at 2 am were primarily in the
mid 70s. Skies were mostly clear with some patches of fog. The fog
was most common from southeast Illinois to around Madisonville
Kentucky.

A large high in the upper levels of the atmosphere will remain
anchored over the Lower Ohio Valley through mid week. Hot and
humid conditions will persist under this high. Any thunderstorm
activity will be isolated and confined to the peak heating hours
in the afternoon. Afternoon high temperatures and heat indices the
next couple of days will be very similar to those observed over
the weekend. Highs will range from the lower 90s around southwest
Indiana to the upper 90s in the Ozark foothills of southeast
Missouri.

The high will start to weaken later in the week...allowing
a weak cold front to move south into the Lower Ohio Valley by
Thursday. Thunderstorm chances will increase slightly along this
cold front.

Over the weekend...another cold front will approach from the
Plains states. This front will keep a chance of thunderstorms in
the forecast. Temperatures later in the week and this weekend will
not be as hot due to the increased cloud cover and potential of
thunderstorms. Highs will be around 90 Thursday and Friday...and
the mid to upper 80s over the weekend.
