Infra red satellite indicated extensive cloud cover over the area.
The latest surface analysis depicted the cold front well south of
the heartland located over the gulf states and it is expected to
stall over the northern gulf. Surface observations indicated
temperatures ranging from the mid 50s to around 60 across the region
early this morning. The national radar loop indicated the nearest
rain was located in the gulf states along the cold front.
Clouds will slowly start to erode as we head into the weekend but
temperatures will remain below normal throughout the forecast
sunshine or not. Winds will be mainly north turning more east as we
head through the week. There may be a brief period of south winds
late Sunday...but velocities will be light for this time of year.
