For much of the day Wednesday, many communities experienced clear
to partly cloudy skies, but by mid afternoon clouds were moving
west to east across southeast Missouri. Morning lows ranged from
the low 20s north to the low 30s south. Afternoon highs climbed
nicely into the mid 40s to around 50 degrees in communities along
the Arkansas and Tennessee borders.
Clouds will continue to increase across the area tonight with the
approach of a cold front, which will through the area by Thursday
evening. There will be a slight chance of light precipitation late
tonight into mid day Thursday and with temperatures remaining
above freezing, it should be rain or sprinkles. Behind this weak
frontal system we will see a pretty good cool down. It will also
be a bit breezy along and behind the front Thursday, gradually
tapering off Thursday night. With northerly winds continuing
behind the front, Friday will be considerably cooler with morning
lows in the 20s and highs in the mid 30s to around 40 degrees.
