...BUILDING HEAT AND HUMIDITY FOR THE WEEK AHEAD...

HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT IS FORECAST TO STRENGTHEN ITS GRIP ACROSS THE
COUNTRY`S MID SECTION THIS WEEK. THIS WILL ALLOW A TRAPPING AND
ACCUMULATING OF HEAT AND HUMIDITY OVER THE QUAD STATE, THAT WILL
RESULT IN HEAT INDICES REACHING INTO THE TRIPLE DIGITS PRETTY MUCH
EACH AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE WEEK
AHEAD. THE ONLY EXCEPTION WILL BE IN OUR NORTHEASTERN PARTS OF THE
REGION ON TUESDAY, WHICH WILL SEE SLIGHTLY COOLER TEMPERATURES AND
HUMIDITY LEVELS IN THE WAKE OF A RECENTLY PASSED COLD FRONT.

IF YOU WILL BE OUTSIDE IN THE WEEK AHEAD, PLANS SHOULD BE MADE TO
LOWER YOUR RISK OF HEAT ILLNESS. REDUCED EXPOSURE TO THE HEAT,
FREQUENT BREAKS AND HYDRATION, AND WEARING LIGHTWEIGHT, LIGHT
COLORED CLOTHING ARE ALL IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID HEAT
STRESS, WHICH CAN BECOME LIFE THREATENING. THE ELDERLY, THE YOUNG,
AND THOSE WITH PRE-EXISTING HEALTH CONDITIONS, SHOULD ALL BE
MONITORED DURING PERIODS OF PROLONGED AND ELEVATED HEAT.
