...LOCALLY HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS TODAY AND SATURDAY IN PADUCAH
KENTUCKY...

TEMPERATURES RUNNING IN THE UPPER 80S NEAR 90 DEGREES WILL
COMBINE WITH VERY UNCOMFORTABLE HUMIDITY LEVELS TO PRODUCE LOCAL
HEAT INDEX VALUES UP AROUND 100 DEGREES AT THE BBQ ON THE RIVER
FESTIVAL BOTH THIS AFTERNOON AND SATURDAY AFTERNOON. LOCAL SITE
OBSERVATIONS FROM THE EVENT ITSELF INDICATE THAT THE
UNCOMFORTABLE HEAT INDICES MAY BE AGGRAVATED BY ALL OF THE
GRILLING THAT HAS BEEN ONGOING THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS.

THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS THAT SOME FOLKS NEEDED TO BE TREATED FOR
HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES YESTERDAY. THOSE ATTENDING BBQ ON THE RIVER
FESTIVITIES TODAY AND SATURDAY SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR LOCALLY
HIGHER HEAT INDICES. WEAR LOOSE...LIGHT COLORED AND LIGHT FITTING
CLOTHING AND BRING ALONG PLENTY OF WATER TO STAY HYDRATED. HATS
MAY AID IN KEEPING THE SUN OFF YOUR FACE.

THE HIGHEST HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL OCCUR BETWEEN NOON AND 6 PM
CDT. THE VALUES WILL THEN BEGIN FALL OFF FAIRLY QUICKLY AS THE
SUN SETS DURING THE EVENING HOURS.
