...Elevated Fire Weather Danger Monday...

A continued dry air mass will combine with gusty winds on Monday
to create an elevated fire danger on Monday. Winds of 15 to 20
mph can be expected with higher gusts to around 30 mph possible.

Relative humidity levels will fall into the 25 to 35 percent
range for most of southeast Missouri, however a few areas will
see relative humidities drop to around 20 percent closer to the
Ozark foothills. Winds will shift from the southwest to west and
northwest during the day Monday as a dry cold front pushes across
the region. While fuel moistures remain above critical levels, Red
Flag conditions may be approached Monday.

These weather conditions along with very dry grasses and
underbrush could result in the rapid spread of fires. Burn bans
are in effect for some counties and outdoor burning is highly
discouraged across the region. Check with local authorities for
the latest on area burn bans.
