AT 551 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER
GRAND TOWER...OR 11 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MURPHYSBORO...MOVING EAST AT
25 MPH.

HALF INCH HAIL AND WINDS IN EXCESS OF 40 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH
THIS STORM. RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF AN INCH WILL ALSO PRODUCE
BRIEF FLOODING OF LOW LYING AND POORLY DRAINED AREAS.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
CARBONDALE...ANNA...JONESBORO...COBDEN...GRAND TOWER...ALTENBURG...
CEDAR LAKE AREA...MAKANDA...ALTO PASS AND GORHAM.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM...AND MAY LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE THROUGH FLOODED
ROADWAYS.

FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM.
LIGHTNING CAN STRIKE 15 MILES AWAY FROM A THUNDERSTORM. SEEK A SAFE
SHELTER INSIDE A BUILDING OR VEHICLE.

THIS STORM MAY INTENSIFY...SO BE CERTAIN TO MONITOR LOCAL RADIO AND
TV STATIONS...AS WELL AS LOCAL CABLE TV OUTLETS...FOR ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
