OF THE REGION...

HEAT INDEX VALUES OF 100 TO 105 WILL BE CONFINED TO SOUTHEAST
MISSOURI AND ADJACENT PORTIONS OF THE PURCHASE AREA OF WEST
KENTUCKY TODAY. GUSTY SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL SPREAD THE HEAT AND
HUMIDITY BACK ACROSS THE ENTIRE REGION THURSDAY. AT LAST...A
STRONG COLD FRONT WILL BRING AN END TO THIS PROLONGED PERIOD OF
HEAT AND HUMIDITY...AS IT PASSES THROUGH THE REGION THURSDAY
NIGHT.

IN THE MEANTIME...THOSE SPENDING PROLONGED PERIODS OF TIME OUTSIDE
SHOULD TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS OUT OF THE SUN AND DRINK PLENTY OF
WATER. ALSO MAKE SURE OUTDOOR PETS HAVE PLENTY OF WATER.
