...Light Freezing Rain to Continue into the Evening...

Temperatures will hover near the 32 degree mark into the early
evening, setting the stage for light freezing rain and icing
issues from Pinckneyville and Murphysboro Illinois to Perryville,
Marble Hill, Piedmont, Greenville and Van Buren Missouri. Light
glazing is expected on elevated surfaces such as trees, fences and
vehicles, and the potential exists for a few slick spots to
develop on bridges and overpasses before sunset. After sunset,
some lesser travelled roads may also become slick in spots.
Motorists should exercise caution through early evening,
especially on bridges and overpasses. Parking lots and sidewalks
may also begin to become slick after sunset. Temperatures are
expected to slowly warm up this evening and bring an end to the
freezing rain and icing threat by 9 PM.
