NORTHEASTERN BALLARD AND NORTHWESTERN MCCRACKEN COUNTIES IS
CANCELLED...

The severe thunderstorm which prompted the warning has moved out of
the warned area. Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for
southern Illinois.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM CDT
FOR MASSAC COUNTY...

At 553 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near New Columbia,
or 7 miles northwest of Metropolis, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Metropolis, New Columbia, and Joppa.

This includes Interstate 24 in Illinois between Mile Markers 24 and
36.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
