...A MIXED BAG OF WINTRY PRECIPITATION EXPECTED LATE THIS
AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...

.A SURGE OF WARMER AIR ALOFT WILL MOVE NORTH LATE THIS AFTERNOON
THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING. THE WARMER AIR ALOFT MOVING OVER A SHALLOW
LAYER OF COLD AIR NEAR THE SURFACE WILL CAUSE PRECIPITATION TO
BREAK OUT. THE PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN AS SNOW AND THEN
GRADUALLY CHANGE OVER TO FREEZING RAIN BEFORE TEMPERATURES FINALLY
CLIMB ABOVE FREEZING SUNDAY MORNING.

AFTERNOON TO NOON CST SUNDAY...

THIS WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS FOR AREAS ALONG AND NORTHWEST OF A
LINE FROM VAN BUREN MISSOURI...THROUGH CAPE GIRARDEAU...TO MARION
ILLINOIS.

* TIMING: LIGHT SNOW WILL SPREAD EASTWARD INTO THE REGION
  TODAY...BUT MOST OF THE ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL BE AFTER 3 PM. IT WILL
  GRADUALLY CHANGE OVER TO FREEZING RAIN OVERNIGHT INTO SUNDAY
  MORNING. TEMPERATURES WILL CLIMB ABOVE FREEZING BY NOON SUNDAY.

* MAIN IMPACT: SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 4 INCHES ARE EXPECTED
  UNDERNEATH LESS THAN A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE. THE HIGHER SNOW
  AMOUNTS WILL BE ALONG AND NORTH OF INTERSTATE 64.

* OTHER IMPACTS: UNTREATED ROADS WILL BECOME SLICK AND HAZARDOUS.

  EVENING...AND CONTINUE INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. IT WILL
  GRADUALLY CHANGE OVER TO FREEZING RAIN AND EVENTUALLY RAIN...
  AS TEMPERATURES CLIMB ABOVE FREEZING SUNDAY MORNING.
