At 501 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 20 miles northeast of Minidoka to 8 miles north of Cold Water Rest Area to 12 miles east of Malta, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... American Falls, Malta, Neeley, Lake Walcott, American Falls Reservoir, Aberdeen, Rockland, Minidoka, Cold Water Rest Area, Juniper, Fort Hall Bannock Peak, Yale Rest Area, Massacre Rocks, Bear Trap Airport, Sweetzer Summit, Pilar Butte, Idahome, Holbrook, Sublett Reservoir, and Roy. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. If on or near American Falls Reservoir, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now!
