...Flash Flooding possible over portions of the Mid-South through
Friday evening...

.The remnants of tropical depression Cindy will continue to
weaken as the center moves northeastward into the Lower
Mississippi Valley. Moderate to heavy rainfall will be possible
across Northwest Mississippi, much of Eastern Arkansas, West
Tennessee, and the Missouri Bootheel. Additional rainfall amounts
of 1 to 3 inches are expected with localized higher amounts
possible. Rainfall totals will likely vary significantly over
short distances, greatest directly beneath and just to the east of
the the remnant low.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, and West
  Tennessee, including the following areas, in East Arkansas,
  Crittenden, Cross, Lee, Phillips, and St. Francis. In North
  Mississippi, Benton, Coahoma, DeSoto, Lafayette, Marshall,
  Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tunica, and Yalobusha. In
  West Tennessee, Fayette, Hardeman, and Shelby.

* Through this evening

* Excessive rainfall from Tropical Depression Cindy.

* High rainfall rates could lead to rapid inundation of flood-
  prone roadways. Sharp rises in creeks and small streams may
  occur. Low-lying areas may quickly become flooded.Low lying
  areas both urban and rural will be most prone to flooding.
  Travelers should be aware of these threat areas and avoid them
  if at all possible. In addition persons should avoid outside
  activity near culverts...ditches and ravines as these have
  proven deadly during flash flood events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

  Southeast Missouri, Dunklin and Pemiscot. In West Tennessee,
  Benton, Carroll, Chester, Crockett, Decatur, Dyer, Gibson,
  Haywood, Henderson, Henry, Lake, Lauderdale, Madison, Obion,
  Tipton, and Weakley.
