The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a

* Arroyo and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
  Northwestern Hidalgo County in Deep South Texas...
  Starr County in Deep South Texas...

* Until 1030 PM CST.

* At 901 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
  thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding in
  the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.
  Additional rainfall of up to 1 inch is expected over the area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Rio Grande City, Sullivan City, La Joya, Los Ebanos, Garciasville,
  Mccook, La Grulla, Puerto Rico, La Victoria and John F Kennedy
  Elementary School.

This includes US Highway 83 between mile markers 814 and 846.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
