FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR DEEP SOUTH TEXAS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BROWNSVILLE TX
436 AM CST MON JAN 23 2017

.DISCUSSION...DRY CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TODAY...WITH MINIMUM
RELATIVE HUMIDITIES IN THE 13-20 PERCENT RANGE...EXCEPT 20-30
PERCENT NEAR THE COAST. HOWEVER...20-FOOT WIND SPEEDS OF GENERALLY
8 MPH OR LESS WILL REMAIN WELL BELOW ANY FIRE WEATHER PRODUCT
CRITERIA. ON TUESDAY MOISTURE GRADUALLY RETURNS TO THE EASTERN
ZONES ON INCREASING SOUTH-SOUTHEASTERLY WINDS WITH 20-FOOT WINDS
APPROACHING 20 MPH. LOWER HUMIDITIES PERSIST OUT WEST BUT 20-FT
WINDS WILL BE LOWER AS WELL...10 MPH OR LESS. AT THIS TIME IT
APPEARS UNLIKELY THAT RED FLAG WARNING CRITERIA WILL BE MET ON
TUESDAY...THOUGH A FIRE DANGER STATEMENT FOR AREAS GENERALLY ALONG
AND EAST OF HIGHWAY 281 IS QUITE POSSIBLE. ELEVATED FIRE DANGER IS
ALSO POSSIBLE ON WEDNESDAY AS DRY NORTH WINDS BLOW BEHIND A COLD
FRONT. NO RAIN IS EXPECTED UNTIL FRIDAY NIGHT OR SATURDAY.
