FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
359 AM CDT SUN MAY 24 2015

.DISCUSSION...

DRY CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL FOR MOST OF TODAY AS A RIDGE OF HIGH
PRESSURE RELAXES AHEAD OF AN APPROACHING UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE
TONIGHT INTO MONDAY/TUESDAY.

MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES MAY BRIEFLY DROP CLOSE TO 30% OVER
NORTHEAST ALABAMA THIS AFTERNOON WITH 20 FOOT WINDS APPROACHING 10
MPH. HOWEVER, NOT EXPECTING CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TO
PERSIST LONG ENOUGH TO WARRANT A RED FLAG WARNING. DISPERSION SHOULD
BE GOOD TO GENERALLY GOOD FOR BOTH SUNDAY AND MONDAY. SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ARE THEN EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY OVERSPREAD THE REGION
FIRST OVER NORTHWEST ALABAMA THIS EVENING AND THEN SPREADING EAST
TONIGHT. SEVERAL DISTURBANCES WILL PASS OVER THE REGION THROUGH THE
MIDDLE PART OF THE WEEK BRINGING A HIGH CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS, ESPECIALLY ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY.
