FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
340 AM CDT SAT AUG 30 2014

.DISCUSSION...

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS NORTHERN
ALABAMA TODAY INTO EARLY SUNDAY MORNING DUE TO A SERIES OF UPPER
LEVEL DISTURBANCES MOVING ACROSS THE REGION. THE BEST CHANCES FOR
PRECIPITATION WILL BE OVER NORTHWEST ALABAMA THIS AFTERNOON AND
TONIGHT.

MIXING HEIGHTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE LOWER TODAY AND TOMORROW WITH THE
AMOUNT OF PRECIPITATION AND LOWER CEILINGS EXPECTED. WINDS WILL BE
GENERALLY LIGHT BUT GUSTY AT TIMES NEAR ANY THUNDERSTORMS TODAY.
SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS WILL INCREASE ON SUNDAY WHICH WILL CONTRIBUTE TO
HIGHER DISPERSION VALUES (GOOD).

SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM CHANCES SHOULD DECREASE ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON
INTO MONDAY AS THE LAST UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE MOVES OFF TO THE
NORTHEAST.
