Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Wrn Montana and N Cntrl Idaho
National Weather Service Missoula MT
439 AM MDT SAT APR 30 2016

.DISCUSSION...

Idaho: A subtle low pressure system will be over the Northern
Rockies today. This system will cause scattered to widespread
precipitation. A plume of showers currently over eastern
Washington will move southward and bring light precipitation to
north central Idaho later this morning. The precipitation will
become convective during the afternoon with the possibility of an
isolated thunderstorm over Idaho county. A ridge of high pressure
begins to build over the region on Sunday and remain through the
first part of the week. A warming and drying trend should be
anticipated under this ridge as temperatures become well above
normal by Monday/Tuesday time frame. Another pattern change is
expected by the end of the week.

Montana: A subtle low pressure system will be over the Northern
Rockies today. This system will cause scattered to widespread
precipitation. A plume of showers currently over south west-west
central Montana will slowly drift westward and bring light
precipitation this morning. The precipitation will become
convective during the afternoon with the possibility of an
isolated thunderstorm over Southwest Montana. A ridge of high
pressure begins to build over the region on Sunday and remain
through the first part of the week. A warming and drying trend
should be anticipated under this ridge as temperatures become well
above normal by Monday/Tuesday time frame. Another pattern change
is expected by the end of the week.
