FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NW OREGON AND SW WASHINGTON
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PORTLAND OR
858 AM PDT SUN JUL 5 2015

...POTENTIAL MIXING TO AROUND 12,000 FEET THROUGH MONDAY PLUS
MODERATE TO LOCALLY POOR RIDGETOP HUMIDITY RECOVERY THROUGH MID-
WEEK...

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...LOW LEVEL INSTABILITY AND INCREASED
COLUMN POTENTIAL THROUGH MONDAY. OTHERWISE...BROAD HIGH PRESSURE
BRINGS CONTINUED WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS PLUS MODERATE AND LOCALLY
POOR HUMIDITY RECOVERY ON THE RIDGES UNDER THE THERMAL BELT. LOW
PRESSURE OFF THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA COAST BRINGS THUNDERSTORM
POTENTIAL MAINLY TO THE CENTRAL CASCADES NEXT WEEK.

.DISCUSSION...A COMPLEX PATTERN OVERHEAD THROUGH MID-WEEK WITH A
BROAD UPPER RIDGE SPANNING THE WEST COAST. A WEAK CLOSED LOW IS
MEANDERING OFF THE NORCAL COAST. ANOTHER WEAK TROUGH IS SLIDING
EAST TOWARD CENTRAL CANADA AND WILL BRING A BIT OF ADDED LOW LEVEL
INSTABILITY THROUGH MONDAY. THIS CREATES MIXING POTENTIAL UP TO
AROUND 12 KFT TODAY AND MONDAY AND ESPECIALLY FOR THE CASCADES.
FORTUNATELY, WILL TEND TO SEE A TYPICAL DIURNAL WIND PATTERN FOR
LOCALLY BREEZY CONDITIONS IN THE IMMEDIATE CENTRAL GORGE AREA AND
A NORTHERLY AFTERNOON WIND INFLUENCE FOR THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY AND
COAST. WARM AND DRY WEATHER WILL CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL
DAYS ALONG WITH A SUBSIDENCE INVERSION MAINTAINING MODERATE AND
LOCALLY POOR HUMIDITY RECOVERY ABOVE 3500 FEET.

THE UPPER LOW OFF NORCAL HAS SLID A BIT WEST AND SOUTH ALLOWING THE
INLAND NORTHWEST THERMAL LOW TO SLIDE CLOSER TO THE CASCADES. THIS
BRINGS ADDITIONAL LOW LEVEL MIXING POTENTIAL THROUGH MONDAY. THE
UPPER LOW WILL DRIFT CLOSER AGAIN BEGINNING MONDAY AFTERNOON TO
BRING A THREAT OF THUNDERSTORMS FOR SOUTHERN LANE COUNTY INCLUDING
SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF ZONES 603, 606, AND 608 EACH AFTERNOON AND
EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY. JBONK
