DISCUSSION FOR FORTUNA DISPATCH
318 PM PDT FRI JUL 21 2017

AN OFFSHORE WIND FLOW PATTERN WILL START TO TAKE
SHAPE TONIGHT. GUSTY NORTHEAST AND EASTERLY WINDS ARE
EXPECTED OVER THE EXPOSED RIDGES OF HUMBOLDT AND DEL NORTE COUNTIES.
POOR OVERNIGHT RH RECOVERIES ARE EXPECTED AS WELL. THE OFFSHORE
FLOW PATTERN COUPLED WITH STRONG WARMING ALOFT WILL RESULT IN A
SIGNIFICANT INCREASE OF DAYTIME HIGH TEMPERATURES AS WELL AS
LOWER DAYTIME HUMIDITIES THIS WEEKEND. AN UPPER-LEVEL LOW WILL
APPROACH OUR REGION FOR SUNDAY AND MONDAY, BRINGING A POSSIBILITY
FOR AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS TO INTERIOR DEL NORTE AND
HUMBOLDT COUNTIES, AND NORTHERN TRINITY COUNTY. DRIER WESTERLY
FLOW ALOFT WILL DEVELOP BY THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK, ENDING ANY
THUNDERSTORM THREAT.
