...Windy with Blowing Dust Across Southern New Mexico and Far
West Texas Thursday afternoon and Friday afternoon...

.An upper level disturbance will pass north of the region this
afternoon and evening and bring strong winds to the region. West
winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts 50 mph are expected in the
afternoon, with the strongest gusts occurring in higher elevation
areas and lowlands areas east of mountain ranges. The winds will
produce blowing dust across the lowlands with the visibility
falling under a mile in some locations. Winds will briefly
diminish overnight before increasing again on Friday.

The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has
issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect until 9 PM MDT this
evening. A Wind Advisory has also been issued from 11 AM to 9 PM
MDT Friday. In addition, a Blowing Dust Advisory has been issued.
This Blowing Dust Advisory is in effect from 11 AM to 7 PM MDT
Friday.


* TIMING...Wind advisory until 9 pm Thursday.

* Winds...West winds will have sustained speeds of 25 to 35 mph
  with gusts 40 to 50 mph.

* VISIBILITY...Blowing dust will reduce the visibility to less
  than one mile over much of the area with the visibility less
  than a half mile across a few locations.

* IMPACTS...The strong winds and low visibility will cause
  dangerous driving conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of at least 30 mph are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
